Can You Spot a Crash Diet?



When it comes to choosing a diet that will result in weight loss, there’s no substitute for a sensible eating plan and exercise.

But, weight loss is now a multimillion-dollar business, so you can be sure there are plenty of charlatans willing you to part with your hard earned cash to purchase one of their products.

You need to be aware of the sly methods used to promote weight loss products, so you can avoid being duped by their cleaver marketing next time you purchase a weight loss book, or diet product.

12 ways to spot a fad diet in no time at all:

#1 They promise fast, permanent, or easy weight loss, for example 10 pounds in one week.

#2 They concentrate on one particular food or drink, such as grapefruit, green tea, or cereal, rather than focusing on your diet as a whole.

#3 They include a list of foods which are forbidden.

#4 They discourage eating certain foods in combination, such as consuming carbohydrates with proteins.

#5 Scientific evidence does not support their claims, however they make it sound like fact.

#6 They promise there is no need to exercise, or they don’t encourage exercise.

#7 They rely on testimonials to sell their product, however you have no idea if the testimonials are true.

#8 They claim you don’t need to change your overall diet; you simply need to supplement it with their product.

#9 They make the issue of obesity sounds simplistic.

#10 They promise fat removable from specific areas of the body.

#11 They use convincing terms such as ‘miracle,’ ’scientific breakthrough,’ and ‘revolutionary’ to persuade you to purchase from them.

#12 Their products can only be obtained via the Internet, mail order, infomercials, or from multi level marketers.
